How do i keep my ice bath clean?
Ice Bath Maintenance
Taking care of your ice bath doesn’t have to be complicated. A simple, consistent approach ensures your water stays clean, your setup stays functional, and your experience stays effective. Here’s everything you need to know to maintain your ice bath with minimal effort.
What You Need:
You only need two simple tools:
- A non-chlorine oxidiser - to keep the water fresh and safe for skin
Suggested product - Aquaspa Spa Sanitiser:
- A small net - to skim any floating debris (leaves, skin, hair, etc.)
Suggested product - Amazon Telescopic Fish Net (Square):
We don’t sell these products ourselves, but these are the exact products I have been using for a few years. I have no affiliation with the suggested products, however I know that they work and they won't cost you a fortune - transparency first!
Maintenance Tips:
Please see our top maintenance tips below:
- Rinse off before every use
- Add a cap size amount of non-chlorine oxidiser after each use
- Skim floating debris as needed
- Rinse the internal filter in your chiller once per week (no replacement required)
Please note: If your water becomes cloudy or the walls/ floor of your tub become slippery:
- Fully drain and rinse the tub
- Wipe down the inside walls and floor with a soft cloth
- Refill with clean water
Providing you rinse off before each use and you use the non-chlorine oxidiser after every ice bath, you should not have to replace the water very often - every 1-2 months at the most. Our chiller also has an in-built filter, but similarly to regular pools or spas, minor maintenance is required to ensure optimal cleanliness. Consistent maintenance means better performance, safer sessions, and a bath that lasts. It only takes a few minutes a week to protect your investment and your recovery.
What to Avoid:
- Don't forget to use the lid provided
- Don't add soaps or oils
- Don’t use chlorine — it breaks down materials and irritates skin
